What You Can Expect

Welcome to Carlinville UMC. We are a growing vibrant congregation who would love to have you be a part of our church. We invite you to be a part of our mission: “To Know Christ and Make Christ Known!”

See what we are doing! If you have questions or need more information, please contact us at info@carlinvilleumc.com. Learn more about upcoming events by reviewing the Church Calendar.

WORSHIP

Worship with our church family on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Join us in praise, song, and prayer, and contemplate the message from our pastor. Our worship is a blend of traditional and contemporary music and praise.

Our church’s music ministry plays an important role in worship and includes choir, bell choir, and special music presentations.

Children are always welcome during worship, and we also provide professional childcare during services for families that desire it.

A Sunday School program is offered for children and youth. Children are dismissed during the worship service to participate in activities that nurture their development as young Christians. They return to their parents in the sanctuary before the service is done.

LEARN

There are several opportunities to learn at the Carlinville United Methodist Church. Join a Bible study group and explore scripture pertaining to a variety of topics, participate in small group discussions, or consider the Sunday School activities during worship on Sunday mornings.

Children and youth activities are offered on Wednesday evenings during the school year (supper provided) and Vacation Bible School, scheduled during the summer, can provide a multi-day experience for children.

FELLOWSHIP

Cup ‘o Grace: Morning worship is a time to connect with others in our church. Come a little early and join us outside the sanctuary for a cup of coffee and some conversation.

The Sarah Circle organizes the women of our church for sewing quilts for hospital patients or church-related missions, holiday decorating, nursing home visits, special meals, and an extraordinary annual rummage sale.

United Methodist Men host an annual Soup Kitchen during the Carlinville Christmas Market, and the annual Pancake and Whole Hog Sausage Dinner on Fat Tuesday, at the beginning of Lent. Both events give the men of the church a chance to work together in popular community events.

Youth activities during the school year and extending into the summer months provide meaningful and fun ways for our children and youth to be involved at the church. From regular Wednesday evening activities to ski trips, mission projects, and church camp opportunities, church-sponsored group activities let everyone be involved.

SERVE

There are many ways to help and volunteer in our church. You can help by being a greeter or usher at worship services, preparing communion, or participating in one of the many activities or service projects during the year.
